One look at the trailer for Minecraft’s Update Aquatic, and I was … hooked. Phase Two of the Update Aquatic rolls out today for Windows 10, VR, mobile devices, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The update includes a new trident weapon, and new procedurally generated locations like shipwrecks to explore. Check out the new trailer above, or head over to the official website for the full list of release notes. The update has me so intrigued that I could stop working right now and go play it.

polygon wrote a new post, The video games of Ecuadorean fishing village Santa Marianita, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
If you made a different turn heading toward the coastline, you’d miss Santa Marianita entirely. Wedged between Manta and the Pacific Ocean, the small, 5,000-person Ecuadorean fishing village isn’t on the map. Santa Marianita is the kind of place where you are born, where you stay and where you die, buried in the cemetery with mountain views. Years ago, Andrés’ father and uncles moved from farm country to become Santa Marianita fishermen. And, as in Santa Marianita, it doesn’t matter that there’s

Th next Dragon Ball movie — the 20th in the long-running franchise — is called Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Toei Animation announced. polygon wrote a new post, Pokémon Go community days have made the game fun again, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
That’s been true at least once a month since January, thanks to Pokémon Go’s community day events. There’s a dual purpose to community days, which occur worldwide on a designated day. The other part of these community days is the emphasis on, well, community. And that goes not just for July’s Squirtle day, but the community days overall. “The person who invented the Community Day in #PokemonGO deserves a big fat raise,” he tweeted.

Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic Games is in the process of delivering on the collect-athon platformer’s remaining stretch goals, including one that amps up the Nintendo 64 era nostalgia: a filter that makes the game looks much worse. On Playtonic’s website, the developer offered a work-in-progress peek at the promised “64-Bit” tonic, one of Yooka-Laylee’s game modifiers, dubbed Play Tonics. The graphics filter was included as one of Playtonic’s stretch goals; the game’s Kickstarter campaign pro

After weeks of rumors — and a next-gen star filling his shoes in Solo: A Star Wars Story — the original Baron Administrator of Cloud City is heading back to the galaxy far, far away. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Billy Dee Williams will appear as Lando Calrissian in the yet-to-be-titled Star Wars: Episode IX. After appearing as Lando in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and voicing the smuggler in a dozen-plus cartoons and video games, Williams will return to the franchise

God of War’s photo mode lets you move the camera as you please, so long as it isn’t too far from Kratos. In Wreckfest and Doom, photo mode lets me see the carnage that goes on out of my sight. Photo mode reveals the awe-inspiring psychadelic landscapes of Bound from perspectives you could never achieve in game. The future of photo modesI delayed finishing this video multiple times because new games featuring photo mode kept being released. But I also like to think that photo mode is the develope

Paul will likely touch on the topic of burnout — a very real, growing concern in the YouTube community. At the time, Paul was publishing a vlog a day, touring, and partnering with other creators like his brother Jake Paul for separate videos. His most recent three-part documentary series focuses on TanaCon, the disastrous fan-festival organized by YouTuber Tana Mongeau in retaliation to VidCon. These YouTube documentaries could be genuine investigations of their creators’ lives. Logan Paul will

Some of the celebration methods are more outlandish than others, like a popular meme that’s emerged promising to get a specific Thanos tattoo if a post receives 10,000 upvotes. The Reddit user, “thethanossnap,” commented on the post claiming it to be an “obligatory shitpost,” but it’s a meme dedicated Reddit users will know. The thread is full of people yelling, “Bamboozle insurance,” which refers to a popular joke that started in r/me_irl back in 2016. It’s extremely appropriate for r/thanosdid

So-called “actual play” role-playing experiences are having a moment. If the concept of actual play experiences wins it will be the first time a concept has ever done so. The only question, I guess, is: Who gets to hold the trophy for the next year if actual play actually wins? More and more actual play experiences are cropping up every day. Wizard’s event served as the launchpad for a brand-new actual play series called Rivals of Waterdeep.

Steven Universe’s queerness isn’t just about the show’s superficial trappings, it’s baked into a core message: fight for love against all odds. Two Gems who fall in love are not necessarily two women in love; within the context of Gem society, there are no other options. Not every queer relationship looks like Ruby and Sapphire’s, and we’re not all readily represented by their union, but we can all see ourselves in their fight for love. And while Ruby and Sapphire may be the most visibly queer r

By triangulating these three llama sightings, fans deduced that the next destination was just outside of Paris, France. While North American fans co

Super Mario 64 remains one of the most exciting, popular games to speedrun, and one streamer reminded the community why that is this weekend. With a premier studio on board and a whole new look and cast, Everyone’s Story highlights what seems to be a new er
