Stegmaier is the designer of Scythe, a novel strategy board game released in 2016, one that is beloved by fans and critics alike. He’s set to release the third and final expansion for that game, called Scythe: The Rise of Fenris, at this year’s Gen Con in Indianapolis. Finally, the Fenris expansion itself is entirely modular. That means each of the new features unlocked during the eight-game campaign can be used to create unique, one-off matches. That means you can play the eight-game campaign a

Sea of Thieves has been working to deliver content at a steady clip. The Sunken Curse is the newest weekly event, and it’s all about going underwater to, well, stop a curse that has sunken. There’s also the small matter of this weekly event being centered around a curse. We’ve been told that future Sea of Thieves content will be more heavily lore-based and we can see bigger stories being told through campaigns. If the release schedule of Gunpowder Skeletons into The Sunken Curse holds steady, we

Certain third-generation monsters, like Nincada and its two evolutions, have been left out of the wild since the Hoenn region’s Pokémon began to appear in the game last year. In the case of Nincada, it’s possible that its hig

Emperor Palpatine, one of several playable heroes and villains in Star Wars Battlefront 2, was taken out of the game five days ago by its developers at EA DICE. Fans think it may have to do with Palpatine’s Force lightning power. His chain lightning was at one point capable of targeting opponents through walls, before DICE tweaked that issue earlier this year. Players speculate that DICE brought back the Emperor’s original lightning abilities, either inadvertently otherwise, and that’s why Palpa

Hot on the heels of his show-stealing reprisal as Luis in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, Michael Peña stars in the Netflix original film Extinction, looking considerably less goofy and considerably more in peril. It’s not clear at first what the threat is — only that Peña’s character is the only one who believes his harrowing visions may one day become reality. There’s a pivotal moment in the trailer when it becomes apparent that the crisis is no longer a premonition. Peña’s character’s visions

One of the Wii U’s best efforts, the charming puzzle-action game Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker comes to Nintendo Switch (and Nintendo 3DS systems) this week, giving Nintendo fans an opportunity to atone for the sin of missing it the first time around. Not much has changed for the Switch version of Captain Toad. The goal in most levels is to walk (or quickly waddle) Captain Toad or Toadette toward a glittering gold star. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has its roots in the Super Mario Bros. serie

It’s hard not to notice that “PRIMO” is one letter away from a certain shopping holiday that’s been dominating deals Twitter and shopping news during the month of July. Price’s response makes perfect sense in that context, and is the sort of social media venting that is hardly seen as scandalous in 2018. Leaders would look at the situation, de-escalate the rhetoric and maybe put a more robust social media policy in place. He walked into a common gaming situation and poured gasoline onto a fire that was never that big to begin with. But on some level, they need to have these social media presences, and be contactable. “I had, in my time there, zero warnings abou

polygon wrote a new post, How the Marvel movies cleaned up Hank Pym’s controversial past, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
If the Marvel Cinematic Universe has one single recurring theme in its most recent movies, it’s family. Somehow, against virtually all odds, this movie managed to turn Hank Pym into a pretty likable guy, and that — if you’ve read his comics — is pretty wild. Stability, emotional or otherwise, was never really Hank’s forte. All of which is to say Hank Pym isn’t a guy you’re supposed to be properly rooting for, even now. The MCU isn’t about Hank Pym, and Hank Pym is pretty okay with that.

Disney’s latest trailer for Christopher Robin strings together an abundance of “Pooh” puns and adorable jokes, while leaving a little room for some emotional scenes, too. This trailer gives us a better look at Winnie the Pooh’s adventures through London, as he nestles himself under Robin’s arms and sits across from him in a train compartment. The focus on this trailer seems to be on Pooh’s relationship with Robin, now a much older man living with his family in London, as they try to reunite the
