riftherald wrote a new post, It proves that children are the perfect heroes of horror, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 2 months ago
Picture this: You’re watching a horror movie. (You know they’re in a horror movie. Horror characters should know better. Horror characters should definitely know better, but kids don’t know better. The film elegantly makes this subtext into text, pointing out that the things adults fear differ greatly from the things children fear, and this is why Pennywise prefers hunting children over adults.

Depending on who you ask, Rotten Tomatoes is the reason some movies don’t perform at the box office. Or, more simply, did a lower “rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes equate to box office woes? “Production budgets are less and less of a predictor of box office success,” Bergquist wrote. Last year, the film industry made close to $40 billion in global box office revenue, setting a newfound record. The solution to Hollywood’s current woes are unknown, but the fault doesn’t lay in Rotten Tomatoes’ la

riftherald wrote a new post, In Splatoon 2’s McDonald’s showdown, nuggets take narrow victory, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 2 months ago
Japanese Splatoon 2 players have weighed in: When it comes to McDonald’s most iconic foods, chicken nuggets reign supreme. In the popular vote, French fries actually swept players away. A majority voted in favor of those good, good potatoes — 71 percent joined that team, while only 29 percent went with the misshapen pieces of over-processed chicken. Team McNuggets won the Splatfest with a tiny 51 percent success rate. This just goes to show that if you’re signing on for a Splatfest, you gotta sp

Ubisoft is getting into the multiplayer arena shooter with the stylish Atomega, which will launch Sept. 19 on Steam. Atomega is being developed by Ubisoft Reflections, which delivered Grow Home in 2015, then Grow Up in 2016. Atomega is an eight-player shooter in which the players’ “exoforms” can grow and evolve, from the small and fast Atom to the, you guessed it, Omega, according to the game’s Steam listing. Smaller exoforms spend their time collecting mass to grow into bigger forms, and the bi

Since Bethesda launched its new Creation Club feature in Fallout 4 earlier this month, players have expressed frustration with what they see as the reintroduction of paid mods. The Creation Club consists of new in-game content developed that is “internally created, or internally created along with external developers,” according to Bethesda. That’s obvious from Fallout 4’s recent Steam reviews, which are overwhelming negative and all focused on Creation Club. It doesn’t matter which words are us

Anyone who has played a typical game of Dota 2 has likely encountered the handle “Torte de Lini”—no exaggeration. TFC: You had a lot to balance between your esports editorial work and your Dota work. To enjoy the stream, you have to feel like you’re part of the community. All their friends in the game were watching the main stream, the newbies were watching the the newbie stream, they weren’t connecting at all. G2 Esports continued its reign of dominance in EU LCS play, sweeping Misfits 3-0 Sunday in Paris. It’s G2’s unprecedented fourth straight EU LCS title — even Fnatic never won more than three in a row. The feat’s made all the more impressive when you remember this is only G2’s fourth EU LCS split. Both G2 and Misfits had already clinched their spots at this year’s Worlds, but with the result, G2 will now be Europe’s No. 2 team, and Fnatic, H2K, UOL and Splyce will compete for the third and final

The private beta test of Call of Duty: WWII’s multiplayer has raised the level cap, opening up new weapons and equipment for players. Sledgehammer Games raised the cap from 30 to 35 yesterday evening. The beta for Infinite Warfare got a one-day extension last year, and in 2015, Treyarch raised the level cap for Black Ops 3 a day before that beta was extended another 24 hours. The raised level cap means the M1928 — the classic Thompson Submachine Gun — and the Flamethrower Scorestreak are now ava

Japanese fans of Splatoon 2 are gearing up for another Splatfest event, but this one demands they choose from McDonald’s tastiest fried items. The next Splatfest, a joint promotion with McDonald’s from Sept. 9 to Sept. 10 in Japan, requires players to choose Team French Fries or Team McNuggets. The EU LCS Summer Split Playoffs come to a close on Sunday when G2 Esports and Misfits will play each other to see which team will get the chance to advance to Worlds as Europe’s number one seed. There was never really a doubt in anyone’s mind that G2 would make it to this stage in the playoffs. What does set this finals appearance apart for G2 is that it’s the first they have entered looking somewhat vulnerable. While it’s true that G2 bounced back in the semifinals, beating H2K handily in a 3-
