With Fnatic and G2 Esports back at the top of their game, this week was the perfect time for the two to meet and lucky for us they will do exactly that. Meanwhile in NA, the match of week has some slightly different stakes. For the last several weeks, Clutch Gaming have looked like one of the league’s stronger teams, battling through difficult opponents and reaching third place with a 6-5 record. In this week’s final game, however, they will have to take on Cloud9 who will test just how good Clu

Now, as we pass the Spring Split’s halfway mark with both teams still below a 50 percent win rate it seems clear that a sea change is upon us. Sure, either team could still make playoffs, but neither is likely to enter as favorites to win the split for the first time ever in the NA LCS. If you couldn’t guess from all that, both TSM and CLG lost their matches in week 5. On the opposite end of the table, week five also gave us a match up between the league’s clear best teams, Cloud9 and Echo Fox,

Since Swain’s new voice and look was revealed, we here at the Rift Herald have been making jokes about him being Tywin-ized. This is, of course, a reference to Charles Dance’s character, Tywin Lannister, from Game of Thrones. Thanks to a post on Reddit by user Spideraxe30, players were pointed to a Twitter discussion between a user and famous British actor James Faulkner. However, players will most likely recognize him from his most recent turn as Randyll Tarly on Game of Thrones. Faulkner first

The LCS is about to round the halfway mark as week five is set to begin. In EU, the marquee match of the week will be on Friday when Team Vitality, currently first in the league with a record of 7-1, take on the number two team, G2 Esports. This is the first time the two have faced and will be far and away the most impressive team that Vitality has had to face so far. Meanwhile in North America, two of the region’s oldest rivals will face off for the first time in 2018 when TSM takes on Cloud9.

Week four of the NA LCS is in the books and the standings couldn’t be much closer. With the advent of franchising, at least so far, it seems clear that just about any team could win on any given day. In fact, these two teams, and Team Liquid who lost both of their week four games, are the only teams in the league with winning records. Better yet, they face off on Sunday during week five in what could be the most important regular season match of the Spring Split so far. While most teams likely w

riftherald wrote a new post, NA LCS will start earlier on Sundays beginning Week 5, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 9 months ago
The new NA LCS format is still a work in progress, so it’s no surprise to see some major changes part way through the year. In this case, the league’s start time on Sunday is being moved from 5:00 p.m. EST, to 3:00 p.m. EST. While the decision was originally made to ensure fans always knew when the NA LCS started, the trade off was pushing games into the late evening — especially for East Coast viewers — at the start of most people’s work week. Riot’s statement also makes clear that this move wa

We’ve made it to week three of the LCS and we’re finally playing on a new patch. Next up will be the NA LCS Academy series where two of the league’s most dominant teams, FlyQuest Academy and Team Liquid Academy will face off for the first time this season. Over in the NA LCS, the match ups are a little more relaxed this week as teams from the bottom half of the table meet their top half counterparts. Why switch Summoner Spell in bottom lane? Nope, there are actually a ton of reasons, but that’s the only one that has to do with swapping Summoner Spells. Unsealed Spellbook gives 25 percent CDR on summoner spells as a base. Add in some Ionian boots — another 10 percent CDR for Summoner Spells — and suddenly Flash is up as often as Barrier, every 180 seconds. A Flash cooldown?
