polygon wrote a new post, Weedcraft Inc. is a tycoon game for all the future cannabis entrepreneurs, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 11 months ago
Enter Devolver Digital-published Weedcraft Inc., a title that takes marijuana business seriously while lampooning capitalism on the whole. And we thought, ‘Well, that’s a tycoon game waiting to happen.’”Weedcraft Inc. will take on many of the aspects of creating a marijuana business with the mechanics and granularity of a tycoon game, with elements that ape many of today’s issues. Instead of a free-for-all sandbox, the game has a narrative, structured through a series of vignettes with different

polygon wrote a new post, Robert de Niro already starred in a near-perfect Joker movie, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 11 months ago
The movie exists in parallel to the DC film universe, where Leto remains attached to both a Suicide Squad sequel (where his take on the character debuted) and in his own stand-alone Joker movie. “Grim and gritty,” Taxi Driver, ’70s/’80s noir — word on the street, including what Polygon has heard from crew members, is that the Joker movie is an extended Marty homage. Here’s the thing: The King of Comedy already is a near-perfect Joker movie. This is Rupert’s world; we just live in it. And if we m

polygon wrote a new post, Smallfoot has more in common with the ‘Zendaya is Meechee’ meme than you think, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 11 months ago
That changed after the viral velocity of “Zendaya is Meechee,” the short musical video by actor, internet creator and former Vine star Gabe Gundacker. Most of his village believes that there’s no such thing as a smallfoot, except for the Smallfoot Evidentiary Society secretly run by Meechee (“Zendaya is Meechee!”), the daughter of the tradition-subscribing village leader, Stonekeeper (“Common is Stonekeeper!”). Percy’s quest to strike viral gold, given the current meme state of the movie, makes

Katamari Damacy is a joyful game. Katamari Damacy is about mass consumption. I know that I’m not the first to assume some cute game’s friendly exterior is actually hiding some searing message about a critical societal issue of the day. But if you give it a watch, I think you’ll see that the evidence really is overwhelming. Now that that’s out of the way, for no particular reason, I’d also recommend you check our interview with Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi talking about his upcoming ga

Rockstar Games released its second gameplay video preview for Red Dead Redemption 2 today, focusing on the sundry experiences and “nefarious activities” players will enjoy as outlaw Arthur Morgan. While Rockstar’s previous gameplay preview for Red Dead Redemption 2 focused more on the game’s world and characters that players will interact with, today’s is all about what you can do in the Wild West. In the video, Rockstar boasts that players will discover experiences “naturally as you move fluidl

You can see a video of the game being played in 1080p at 60 fps, reportedly streaming, at the top of this post. “The idea of streaming such graphically-rich content that requires near-instant interaction between the game controller and the graphics on the screen poses a number of challenges,” Google’s Catherine Hsiao wrote in a blog post. Google said that you won’t be able to take part in the game’s economy, although you may be given free credits with which to buy items. “Some features of the Ga

polygon wrote a new post, Fortnite’s new limited time mode is all about dancing, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 11 months ago
Still, this week’s mode, Disco Domination, is shaping up to be the most unique yet. A pop-up that appeared on Fortnite’s in-game news feed acted as our first hint about the mode, and even provided some of the earliest details. It seems like the new mode will be all about dancing, or emoting, and require players to spend as much time using emotes in a certain area as possible, according to the description. While dancing may be the focus, it’s unlikely that this means guns will be gone from the mo

polygon wrote a new post, In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, civilians fight back, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 11 months ago
But Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes place some centuries before those rules existed at all. It stands to reason that accidentally side-swiping civilians in the middle of a heated battle isn’t a game-over condition. Being able to aggro civilians isn’t new for open-world games, but it’s pretty new for Assassin’s Creed. In Assassin’s Creed Origins, there didn’t seem to be consequences for hurting civilians, though there was a pop-up warning the player that Medjay were not supposed to kill the innoce

Most notably, there’s a new weapon class coming, as well as more interesting exotics. The Division 2 will be adding rifles as a new weapon type to the game. While The Division had assault rifles and marksman rifles, semi-auto or burst fire rifles got lost in the mix. The grenade system is also changing from The Division, and will instead offer players only two grenade types at once. When players change their specialization, they’ll also change their grenade type.

Though Trainwrecks later apologized, members of the community have since documented instances of repeated offenses, especially as they pertain to sexist comments. In one recent livestream conversation, Trainwrecks aggressively yells at TradeChat, a popular female Facebook streamer. Trainwrecks uses words like “disgusting” and “sh

But the $19.99 version of TowerFall that was just released on the Nintendo Switch feels like the definitive version of the game, partially due to the fact that it comes with all the game’s DLC and a few surprises, like six-player mode. But it’s mostly because the Switch itself feels like it was custom-made for games like TowerFall. TowerFall is a local multiplayer game — with some single-player trials and challenges that will help you practice your basic skills — in which you battle up to five o

Amid all of this Peachette and Bowsette talk comes a new Mario princess to fawn over. To be clear, she’s not technically new — but Nintendo’s Super Mario Odyssey art book, which hit Japanese retail last week, introduces us to a version of intergalactic royal Rosalina that puts a new spin on the character. It’s easy to see why, because Super Mario Odyssey’s proposed take on our girl Rosie is a marked change from her standard regality. Mario Kart 8 sees her in form-fitting racing gear; she’s got s

No analogous character ever appeared in the release version Destiny, but his model was repurposed and became Prince Uldren, who is the villain of Forsaken. Indeed, the Traveler and the Guardians’ relationship with it was completely ignored in all of the original expansions for Destiny. When the Assassin’s Creed team decided to call this game Odyssey, they weren’t fooling around. I think “odyssey” also refers to the meta-journey taken by Ubisoft, since the first Assassin’s Creed launched more than a decade ago. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a deep, playful fantasy, in which we give ourselves over to another world. Also (and I complain about this every year), the whole modern Animus sub-plot is the stupidest thing about Assassin’s Creed. This is why, for all its faults, Assassin’s

Then there were Capcom’s infamously doomed projects in the 2000s: Mega Man Universe, Mega Man Legends 3 and Maverick Hunter, all of them scrapped mid-development. Now, with Mega Man 11, Capcom seems to have finally figured out how to bring the Blue Bomber into the modern age. Like the new weapons that Mega Man can steal from them, the new Robot Masters in Mega Man 11 are inventive and inspired. There’s a cleverness and care that seems infused throughout Mega Man 11, and numerous creative touches

Adam Driver portrayed a clueless and insecure forty-something divorcé trying to get hip to Fortnite in this sketch from Saturday Night Live’s season premiere yesterday. The generational humor and Driver’s lack of hipness are par for the comedy course, what’s more amusing is the live-action round of Fortnite Battle Royale going on in the split-screen. Fortnite keeps ticking off popularity milestones like they’re stretch goals in the most obnoxious crowdfunding drive ever. If The A-Team was still
