  • Microsoft unveiled a new Xbox at The Game Awards tonight, the Xbox Series X, and to go with it, a brand new game from Ninja Theory: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the game, but it appears as though it won’t stray too far from its roots. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice told the tale of a Celtic warrior battling Viking-esque undead in a dark and gloomy world, but it also took on the challenge of portraying mental health struggles in a sensitive and effective manner.

  • Baby Yoda is an unstoppable global phenomenon and the cutest one since Pikachu, and now he’s taken over The Sims 4 . Quite simply, Baby Yoda can’t be stopped. How far will Baby Yoda go in his quest for worldwide pop-culture domination? Then again, that won’t stop Baby Yoda Hasbro merch from selling out like Furbies on Christmas Eve 1998. If you can’t decide on a Christmas gift this year, Disney Plus Gift Subscription Cards ensure plenty of Baby Yoda, and who wouldn’t want that?

  • Warframe’s Empyrean expansion got a new trailer at The Game Awards tonight, and it also delivered a nice surprise for PC gamers—the expansion is live on PC, right now. In Empyrean, you can customize and pilot your Sigma Series Railjack battleship in four-player co-op. We first heard about the ambitious Empyrean expansion at Tennocon last year, and learned more this summer. You can play Empyrean solo, too, but it’s really designed for a full four-player crew, though 2020 will bring updates more s

  • PT is an endless pit of mysteries, and its latest revelation is that you were actually playing as Death Stranding’s Norman Reedus character model the whole time. Thanks to some crafty camera-modding by prominent YouTuber and hacker Lance McDonald, we now know the Norman Reedus we see in the ending cinematic is the character you’re forcing to witness PT’s ghastly horrors. Not that there any real doubt, but yeah, it’s Norman Reedus the whole time. If it’s anything like PT, I’m both terrified and e

  • The Forest is an open-world survival game released in 2018, after a whopping four years of Early Access. The wait was apparently worthwhile, because these days it’s got an awful lot of positive reviews on Steam. And now it’s getting a sequel too. It’s hard to tell much from a single trailer, but where the first game was primarily “try not to die in the world’s worst forest,” I get the feeling that Sons of the Forest will be more narrative-focused, as it seems that you’ll be actively hunting down

  • Maneater got an extraordinarily bloody new trailer at The Game Awards on Thursday, revealing its release date: May 5, 2020. The trailer shows a bull shark doing shark things like eating people and exploring the seas, as well as some non-shark things like using electricity, evolving in real-time, and eating people on land. Maneater was revealed at the PC Gaming Show in 2018, and since then we’ve only seen sporadic updates about its development. There will be skill trees, a day-to-night cycle, and

  • In November, former Arkane creative director Raphael Colantonio and former Arkane executive producer Julien Roby announced that they’d rejoined forces to found a new indie developer called WolfEye Studios, whose first game would be revealed at The Game Awards. Weird West has a distinct Grim Dawn visual vibe to it, but sounds more narratively focused: Players will experience the origin stories of a group of “atypical heroes, written into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land.” E

  • Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga has been officially unveiled as an Xbox Series X game at The Game Awards 2019. The follow-up to 2017’s well-received Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was shown in full glory at The Game Awards, with truly next-gen, in-engine visuals courtesy of the Xbox One Series X’s beefy hardware. It’s likely Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga will explore mental health more deeply via its titular protagonist and her tumultuous resistance to the “Darkness.” Our first look at a next-gen Xbox game

  • Redhill Games, a studio founded in late 2018 by former Remedy Entertainment CEO Matias Myllyrinne, unveiled its first game tonight at The Game Awards. Nine to Five promises “a fresh take on the tactical first-person shooter” genre, with a strong focus on teamwork over twitchy reflexes. Every round has an impact on the next, so performance matters and strategies will have to be adjusted to compensate for changes. “A lot of modern shooters are often too chaotic and random to really let you enjoy t

  • The long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 remake looks better than ever in a new trailer revealed at The Game Awards 2019. The trailer is about a minute-and-a-half long and it’s everything Final Fantasy fans have been waiting for, bar the actual game itself. The latest trailer is action-packed, includes a good mixture of cinematic and gameplay footage (although mostly cinematic), and is filled to the brim with the personality that made the original Final Fantasy 7 so well-loved. • Chinese studio 24 Entertainment unveiled a multiplayer melee action game tonight at The Game Awards called Naraka: Bladepoint that promises a “boundless movement system” that enables players to climb, hang, wall-run, and more, aided by an “aim-at-whatever-you-want” grappling hook. Combat is obviously the core of the Bladepoint experience, and 24 Entertainment said it will be “sophisticated” yet accessible to beginners. “In Naraka: Bladepoint, players will feel every attack and utilise everything

  • The Wolf Among Us 2 was just announced at The Game Awards. Yep, it’s happening, thank goodness. Telltale Games was effectively shuttered and reduced to a skeleton staff in September 2018 only to reopen in August 2019 under new management. A ton of employees lost their jobs and authorship over existing projects, of which The Wolf Among Us 2 was likely included, just for the studio to conveniently spring back to life. No release date or platforms were detailed, but I expect we’ll hear more about i

  • Ghost of Tsushima will land on our PlayStation consoles in “summer 2020” (so June-August), with the release window confirmed in a new, extended trailer at The Game Awards on December 12. The PS4 exclusive has generated a lot of hype for its high-fidelity visuals and stealthy samurai action, and the latest trailer certainly delivers on that promise. While Jin starts our game as a samurai, he’ll learn skills and adopt tactics that are decidedly not samurai-like, and you can get a small taste in th

If you do the latter in the aptly named Chalkboard, you’ll cut bits out of the environment, and solve puzzles. This is a decidedly chill puzzle game with a huge margin for error. This isn’t the next mind-blowing puzzle game, but it is a lovely puzzle toy where you feel something like a wizard, shifting the fabric of an ambient, chalky world. • GamesRadar+sat down with Shyamalan and Servant creator Tony Basgallop to talk about their new thriller, the pair discussing twists, binge watching, and how deliberately limiting yourself can help enhance your story. I think that’s kind of the point of the show. Just like anything, if you eat a tonne of it, you’re going to forget. More to the point, that I can say ‘Hey, even shows you love, do you remember Stranger Things episode five of the first season?’ You think you’re getting freedom by doin

These time-limited expeditions will be accessible through a jukebox in the Central Executive area, but you’ll need to spend tokens first. Expeditions come with a 25-minute time limit, within which you’ll have to complete four areas. Run out of time and you lose the token and will need to hunt down another if you

  • Fairly or unfairly, George Lucas has a reputation among Star Wars fans (and Han Shot First truthers) for tinkering with things in a galaxy far, far away. One Star Wars crew member who worked alongside Lucas has revealed that he had to cut a lightsaber battle in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith that may have ranked up there as one of the best in the series. Stunt coordinator Nick Gillard was asked by EW about the iconic Darth Maul scene from the final act of The Phantom Menace. The original plan wa
